Bestie Bag Workshop - Saturday 13th June

Make the Bestie Bag from Blackbird Fabrics, use it for everyday errands to life's greatest adventures, this bag will be your cute new sidekick. The Bestie Bag is a banana-shaped carry-all companion with four different views, so you can tailor its size, straps, and pockets to suit your needs and style!

If everyday wear is what you’re after, views A & B are your best bet: medium-sized with an optional flat or pleated front. To make your Bestie fit for adventure, the larger views, C & D, are sure to have enough space for all of your on-the-go necessities (and then some!).

No matter which size you choose, you’ll be able to wear it cross-body or as a shoulder bag with a sturdy webbing or fabric strap, with or without hardware. Equipped with a zip enclosure to keep everything safe, your cute new sidekick awaits!

As part of the tutorial you will receive the pattern to take home with you.

We would advise you to call in for the pattern and fabric before the workshop. If you are unable to call in please let us know and we will arrange to post the pattern to you. We always advise to have your pattern pieces ready before the workshop. 

You would need to be a confident beginner and know your way around your sewing machine. We will open at 9.30am to set up for a 10am start and will finish at 3.30. You can either bring your own fabrics or pop along to the shop beforehand to purchase your fabric with 10% discount. We would suggest using: denim, canvas, twill, heavyweight nylon, ripstop, leather, and vinyl. Though strong on the outside, your Bestie can be soft at heart: lightweight wovens such as poplin, lawn, batiste, and quilting weight cotton will work perfectly for an optional lining.

Workshop Terms and Conditions 

The hours allocated for the workshop should give enough time to complete the pattern however mistakes and personal ability may mean finishing off in your own time.

Bookings can be paid for through our website or in store.

If you are unable to attend the workshops for any reason and inform us before the 1st June we will refund in full. 

If you let us know after the 1st June we will consider the circumstances.

If you are running late for the workshop you must let us know as late arrivals will affect the progress of the rest of the group.

If the workshop is cancelled we will make every effort to rearrange it. Alternatively you would be entitled to a full refund or shop voucher.
