The Ivie Dress, Top and Skirt sewing pattern from Chalk and Notch. Ivie is a woven dress or two-piece set in a maxi length. The pattern has three sleeve options: a tank ruffle, cap sleeve and 3/4 length sleeve. The neckline, sleeve cuff and waistline are adjustable with drawstrings. The waistline is designed to sit high at the natural waist. The top is a cropped length. The skirt includes in-seam pockets, a large hem ruffle and a drawstring elastic waist.
Sewing level: Confident beginner
Suggested fabrics: Light to medium weight woven fabrics. Choosing a stable fabric will make sewing the bias casings easier. Rayon challis, rayon twill, rayon voile, cotton block prints, cotton lawn, cotton voile, linen, chambray.
Fabric requirements: Minimum fabric required is listed. If you think you will need more for shrinkage, directional print, pattern matching or print repeat, please purchase accordingly.
54" (137 cm) wide fabric: Tank dress, 2 3/4 - 3 3/4 yd (2.5 - 3.4 m) // Dress with cap sleeves, 3 - 4 yd (2.7 - 3.7 m) // Dress with 3/4 sleeves, 3 1/2 - 5 yd (3.2 - 4.6 m) // Tank, 1 - 1 1/2 yd (0.9 - 1.4 m) // Top with cap sleeves, 1 1/4 - 1 3/4 yd (1.1 - 1.6 m) // Top with 3/4 sleeves, 2 - 2 1/2 yd (1.8 - 2.3 m) // Skirt, 2 - 2 3/4 yd (1.8 - 2.5 m).
Use the high bust and full bust measurements to determine your size when sewing the dress, tank or top. Use the hip measurement to determine your size when sewing the skirt. The waist, neckline and sleeves are adjustable with drawstrings and elastic. It is always recommended to sew a test garment to confirm fit.
This pattern includes two bust cup options, and the cup size is determined by calculating the difference between the high and full bust. If the difference between your high bust and full bust is between 0" and 2" (5 cm) use the A/B cup. If the difference is between 2" (5 cm) and 4" (10 cm) use the C/D cup. If you have more than a 4" (10 cm) difference, you may need a full bust adjustment.
Notions: 1 1/2 yd of 1/4” elastic; 1 1/2 yd of 1/2” elastic // Optional: small piece of fusible interfacing; ribbon for ties if not using main fabric.
Shipping & Despatch
We aim to despatch all in stock orders received before midday Monday-Friday on that same day. Orders received after midday on Friday will be despatched on the following Monday.

Royal Mail 1st Class - Large Letter if your order is under 100g.
Royal Mail Tracked 24 - Aims to deliver Next Day, Tracked service including text or email with delivery confirmation and tracking.
Royal Mail Tracked 48 - Aims for a two day delivery, Tracked service including text or email with delivery confirmation and tracking.
DPD - full tracked next day delivery, text or email with a 1 hour time slot on the morning of delivery.
DHL 24/48 - Aims to deliver within 24 hours but can sometimes be 48 hours.
Returns / Terms and Conditions

Returns are accepted but you must contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order and state the reason for your return. Fabrics will only be refunded if they are received back to us in the original condition and must not have been cut or pre washed.
Please send clear photographs if there are any issues or damage to your fabrics to sales@littlelegsfabrics.co.uk within 48 hours of receiving the fabric.
Refunds will only be provided for the fabric and not the shipping costs unless your fabric is damaged. Returns must be paid for by the customer unless the fabric is damaged or incorrect in any way.
All fabrics are cut and measured by hand, as such there can sometimes be an under or over cut of up to 3cm, in this case, a refund or exchange will not be offered. If you feel your fabric has been under cut by more than 3cm, please send us an email.
